Growing up in a family of artists and designers, I was surrounded by creativity from a young age. My parents, both architects, would take me on site visits, pointing out the intricate details of buildings and explaining the thought process behind their designs. Those experiences sparked my fascination with the way art and design could transform spaces and impact how people interacted with their environment. As I grew older, my interest in art and design only deepened. I spent hours sketching, painting, and exploring various mediums, always looking for new ways to express myself creatively. In school, I excelled in art and design classes, finding joy in bringing my ideas to life. After completing a degree in Architecture, I began my career as a junior architect at a small firm. Working on real-world projects was exhilarating, and I thrived on the challenge of balancing aesthetics, functionality, and technical considerations. My passion for design, combined with my strong work ethic, quickly led to opportunities to take on more complex and prominent projects. A pivotal moment came when I was selected to lead the design team for the DMCC Tower Burj 2020. The scale and prestige of this project were daunting, but I embraced the challenge. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, I developed innovative design solutions that not only met but exceeded the client's expectations. Seeing the final result – a stunning iconic landmark – was incredibly rewarding and solidified my desire to pursue a career in high-level design. As much as I loved the creative aspects of design, I discovered an equal passion for sharing my knowledge and inspiring others. Teaching others about art and design wasn't just about imparting technical skills; it was about nurturing their creativity, encouraging them to see the world from different perspectives, and empowering them to bring their unique visions to life. There's something special about witnessing a student have an "aha" moment, whether it's mastering a challenging technique or finding their artistic voice. Knowing that I've played a part in their creative journey is deeply fulfilling. Teaching has also kept me fresh and current, as I continually learn from my students and adapt to new trends and technologies. One thing that might surprise people about my background is my extensive experience in the construction industry. Before focusing on teaching, I spent over a decade working as an architect and BIM manager on numerous high-profile projects. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in providing my students with practical insights and real-world examples. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Architecture degree and over 15 years of experience in the design industry. I've had the privilege of teaching at several established design schools and have worked with students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. I take pride in creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment that encourages all students to grow and thrive. I've been fortunate to receive recognition for my work, including being featured in industry publications and receiving awards for outstanding teaching. However, the greatest reward comes from seeing my students succeed and knowing that I've made a positive impact on their creative journeys. As I continue on this path, I'm excited to connect with more students and share my passion for art and design. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I'm here to guide you, support you, and celebrate your growth as a creative individual.
